AHRC’s International Nursing Training Program
The international Nursing training program, which attracts top faculty members and students from around the world, was established as an outgrowth of a visit to China by Asia Healthcare Resource Center. The program's goal, which underlies AHRC's commitment to education and train Asian nurses, is to enhance health care and nursing leadership with partner countries -- while at the same time expanding educational opportunities for students and faculty members in the U.S. This goal is achieved by establishing partnerships and collaborative activities with international partners through educational training, technical exchanges, collaborative research, and service projects. All School of Nursing students who want an international health care experience are guaranteed this opportunity -- because, in nursing field, it is considered an essential part of the learning experience. An Adventure in Life Students is that this experience will affect how a graduate will practice nursing in the future.
The AHRC’s International Nursing Training Program heavily involves in providing health care programs and consultation in China in collaboration with the Health Ministry of China, Chinese Schools of Nursing, and other health care agencies and organizations. Numerous professional education courses have been offered to help upgrade nurses, physicians, and other health care workers in critical areas including primary health care and maternal child nursing. Short-term CGFNS and NECLEX-RN review programs and long-term double degree program are working to expand the educational opportunities outside the U.S.One of the most exciting facets of AHRC’s International Nursing Training Program is the invaluable educational experience it offers to both students and faculty members. Through the program students and faculty members are provided with opportunities to develop a worldview of health care and gain a broader perspective on nursing. To achieve this goal, AHRC is currently looking for a partnership with a professional nursing institution, which provides a wealth of collaborative resources, international expertise, and commitment that strengthen the ability of this program to help improve health care on a global basis.
